4th Sunday of Epiphany, Additional Collect (Redub)

(In 2013 Epiphany was the first Sunday, Baptism of Christ was the 2nd Sunday. The 2nd Sunday of Epiphany prayers don't get used, but we move straight to the 3rd Sunday prayers for 20 - 26 January and then the 4th Sunday prayers for 27 January till Friday 1st February).

God of heaven and earth,

your good news is for the whole world.

We pray that your gifts of love

will be shared among the peoples of the earth.

Send your Holy Spirit and inspire us to

feed the hungry, release the captives,

and set the oppressed free.

Amen.

The Gunning Fog readability index suggests 6.4 years of formal education is required to understand this prayer on a first reading, the Common Worship prayer requires 18.36 years.
